SPACE SALON CONCERT SUNDAY SERIES

TENOR KYUNG YONG LEE AND PIANIST MARALUGA DARJAA PERFORM IN APRIL SALON SERIES AT SPACE

Tenor Kyung Yong Lee, pianist Maraluga Darjaa, and soprano Yesoe Yoon headline the Southport Performing Arts Conservatory's (SPACE) April Salon Series. The all-ages performance features Neapolitan, Italian and German art songs as well as American Pop and Gospel selections and piano works by Chopin and Scriabin. The Salon Series is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at 3433 W. Peterson Ave., Chicago, Ill. Tickets for the performance at $4 and are available at the door. Tenor Kyung Yong Lee is a graduate of Northwestern University where he studied under noted Professor William Warfield. He has performed professionally with the Chicago Symphony Chorus and has been a member of the Chicago Lyric Chorus. Winner of the the 2001 Edward Young Award at the North Shore Musician Club competition, Mr. Lee has also performed at the Opening Ceremony of the 1009 United States Korean American Sports Competition. He is presently the music director of the Lakeview Presbyterian church in Niles, Ill.

A native of Mongolia, Maraluga Darjaa has been playing the piano since age six. She was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Frederic Chopin music Academy in Warsaw, Poland, wher she graduated with honors in 2004. Since graduating, she has worked with Mongolia's Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.
