Private Music Lessons

Private Lessons

S.P.A.C.E offers private and half private music lessons for
* Piano * Violin * Cello * Bass * Guitar * Flute * Percussion * Harp * Voice starting at age of three to adults. Guitar and flute is recommended at the age of 8.

Suzuki Instruction

S.P.A.C.E offers Suzuki instruction for violin, cello and piano for young ages with a supportive and stimulating environment appropriate for each phase of a student's development - from the Sing & Play classes. Suzuki Instruction may begin at ages 3.5.to 7. Each student receives a private instrument lesson during the week.

Theory & Solfege

This class is designed to teach students the basic building blocks of music. Emphasis is on ear training, solfege singing, ensemble and rhythm activities, sight reading, movement and music creativity. The classes are the beginning of simple harmonization of melodies and selected harmonic progressions through singing and keyboard performance.

Harmony and Analysis

This forty-five minutes class investigates harmonic structure in music through improvisation, composition, analysis, and keyboard performance.

Music Gifted Program

Music Gifted program The gifted program of S.P.A.C.E is to educate exceptional performing artists for careers that enrich and transform the human experience by using the skills, creativity, and courage nourished in our vibrant, multidisciplinary community of musicians.

Creative Theory and Improvisation

This fourty-five minutes class is intended to allow students of all ages and levels to experience improvisation and creativity through music. It will provide basic concepts to help initiate each student's ability to write and improvise music. The class is intended to be fun and an experience that is mind opening and new.

Jazz Analysis

This class will be forty-five minutes and an extension to the "Creative Theory & Improvisation" class but will concentrate more on jazz idioms and concepts. It is intended to be for those that have a further interest in jazz music and improvisation. In depth, the class will explore harmonic and melodic ideas of many different jazz styles and eras, including Big Band, Be-Bop, Hard-Bop, Free, Fusion, and Modern. Historical contexts will be presented and explored as well. Students will learn different approaches to improvisation through the jazz language.
