The Wizard of Oz Faculty Recital

The Wizard of Oz

Faculty and students have begun preparations for end of the year, 2013 performances, The Wizard of Oz and Music recital. The music recital will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013 and The Wizard of Oz on Sunday, June 23, 2012. Both performances are being held at Northeastern Illinois University.

In the past, SPACE has used their end of the year Perform-a-thon to raise money, via pledges and 50/50 raffle for SPACE’s scholarship program to aide those families who would not have the opportunity to pursue the arts due to financial hardships, and though SPACE will continue to offer scholarships as many as possible; however, we have a need this year to change our focus. Putting on end of the year productions like The Wizard of Oz and Music recitals are an expensive undertaking and SPACE has always made every effort to keep financial obligations to SPACE families at a minimum, unfortunately, the cost of tuition alone covers very little of the overall production costs. SPACE founders Mr. Altin Naska and Mrs. Fusun Alpakin-Naska have always had to pay out-of-pocket to cover the rest of the expenses.

This year then, instead of raising money for the scholarship program via our end of the year Perform-a-thon this year, SPACE has decided to hold a benefit concert/dinner on Saturday, April 13, 2013 with performances by our dance, music, and drama faculty to help defray the cost of the productions. SPACE is asking that each family purchase at least ONE forty dollar ($40) ticket to our benefit concert whether or not you plan on attending. Every $40 ticket will be entered into a drawing and a winner will be selected the evening of the concert, winner need not be present. Additional tickets can be purchased at reduced prices;

Number of Tickets Cost
1 $40.00
2 $65.00
3 $100
4 or more $10 off each ticket

SPACE is also planning a 50/50 raffle that evening, so please come and join us for a night of food, fun and the opportunity to see our talented faculty perform. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Your support is very important and so very much appreciated to our continued success and to the success of your children’s music, drama, and dance education. Thank you in again for your contributions, support and the opportunity to teach children.

Perform-A-Thon

Annual Perform-A-Thon Information

What is Perform-A-Thon?
Every year we hold our end of the year performance as Music, Dance and Drama Perform-A-Thon. Perform-A-Thon combine a musical, a ballet production, music and dance students performances in one day. Other than our fabulous Music, Dance and Drama Student performances, the Perform-A-Thon was established to raise money for the very talented, yet very underprivileged students who otherwise couldn’t possibly grow artistically and become future stars!
